This Weeks Walks
Sunday 8th September 2019 - Car Walk - Sands: 9.00am
Although this is a long walk there are options to shorten it if anyone wants a come along, the elevation is just over 2000 feet but there are exceptional views from the start.we start from GLenridding and climb gently up the well marked path half way up the path veers off to Angle tarn about 1.5 miles round trip ,this is the first option to shorten the walk with an extended coffee break. From here the path to the top gets steeper as it zigzags to the top, we then have a damp walk down to the sheep pens with the second option to shorten the walk where a path leads down the beck to the lakeside and back to Glennridding however the main group then climbs Great Dodd and follows a lovely ridge walk before dropping steeply down to the Coffin Path which follows the lake back to Glennridding there are some ups and downs along this path which is quite uneven in places
