Sorry the walk was a bit longer than I thought. I had pre walked it in 2 sections and thought it would take 5 hours. Luckily it was warm and dry with views eventually. Everyone did well to be back at the cars by 4 p.m. Uldale tea shop fortunately stays open till 4.30 pm. My next lead is guaranteed by the newspaper route; at Caerlaverock: 6 miles, flat paths with one short incline! Maybe 23 people will appear to risk it again in November but it is the 13th !
