Wednesday Walk
11th September 2013
Langholm Area
Leader: Nancy McClure
Fifteen walkers arrived and tackled the steep climb up the Castle Hill with relative ease. The views from the ridge were surprisingly clear for a dull day. Sadly we were met by a huge herd of Galloway cows with calves and a bull on Potholm Hill. They initially dispersed with some excitement but were regrouping further on so I made the decision to turn back. We saw the rain approaching while getting organised for lunch in the shelter of a wall. On went the waterproofs and after lunch we trekked back down the hill. We then platched along various woodland walks and the rain eased a bit by the time we reached the cafes.
A huge thank to the cheerful walkers who didn't complain in my hearing at least. They are truly a hardy bunch.
