Walter Parry Haskett Smith
(1859–1946) is often called the Father of Rock Climbing
I have started the biography of Walter Parry Haskett-Smith no less so am hoping that getting this published will not be difficult given his wide acclaim. Fortunately, I made contact with one of his relatives living in Nova Scotia who is supporting the project fully and has provided with me with much material and images. Already I am seeing a man who is different to his Napes Needle fame including many skeletons in the family cupboard! I am trying to get as many people made aware of the impending biography of Haskett-Smith, the more people that know about it, the more chance I have of covering a wide area for further info and images of him etc. If anyone has any information about him please let me know.
