Kidscan Appeal

I am the Events Fundraiser for Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research and we have an exciting NEW walking challenge for 2016 – Lake District 6 Peaks Challenge on Saturday 17th September 2016.

About Kidscan:
Around 1,600 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year; one in five of these children will not survive. For those that do, life can be very difficult as a result of the treatment they receive. The money raised will directly support research into new and improved treatments for childhood cancer. We look for treatments which are less damaging to the bodies of children and young adults with the aim of reducing both short and long term side effects, whilst still retaining the effectiveness of the treatment. We don’t receive any government funding so the continuation of our research relies solely on donations, that’s why fundraising efforts make such a big difference to us.

The Lake District 6 Peaks Challenge is an exciting new challenge for 2016, which promises to be a rewarding day’s walk for all! You would be taking on a 13 mile circuit of the Buttermere Horseshoe over approximately 10 hours, with a short refreshment break at the half way point, provided by Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research.
The entry fee is £40 per person, which includes a qualified mountain leader throughout the event with a detailed knowledge of the Lake District Fells, our support on the day, including refreshments at the half way point and a fundraising pack (including a T-shirt, personalised sponsor form and fundraising booklet). We do ask that you aim to raise £200 in sponsorship for Kidscan when taking on this event.
