Lynda's Scones
Last Wed 13th May..15 or so of us went to Granny Dowberkins café in Pooley Bridge..and my scone and others were not that great..a lot of hard stuff that all crumbled ( I did send mine back)..the next day I telephoned and offered them some constructive criticism…not for any other reason but to bring it to their attention….they assured me they were not packet mix…but said thanks for taking the time to telephone them....4 hrs later a telephone call to me…..to tell me they were packet mix..they were changing that from Thursday to making them from scratch….could not thank me enough…asked for my name and address..Saturday I came home to a letter and a £20 voucher on the mat. So if ever we as a group or individuals are out and about and need refreshments…they need another chance and not a bypass…as a lot of people do not accept criticism as kindly as they did….so 4 cream scones 4 cups of tea and a slice of cake for £20 quid..I will be well stuffed.
