Joining the National Union of Suffrage Society (NUWSS) and eventually establishing the Keswick Branch. The first AGM of the North West Branch was held in Carlisle in 1911.
From small scale activism in Cumberland to becoming a national figure in the suffragist movement. Gail discusses the activities of Catherine Marshall and her contempories in Cumbria
during the early part of the 20th century
