Re the Ullswater Way comments I made last week on the website:

I offer a full, unreserved apology to all those who have been upset by my remarks I can assure you that my sole interest, as Chairman, has always been to run a happy club with an interesting programme – both social and walking

My intention was to draw attention to the fact that many members had not yet contributed to the fund raising aspect of this walk Unfortunately, I seem to have taken a sledge hammer to crack a nut and offended many members

A gentle reminder would have sufficed I know

I have many friends and, indeed, family members in the club and would not wish to offend them or anyone else

I hope now that we can put this behind us and get on with enjoying our really great club

Thank you to all those who have been supportive of my Chairmanship
