Walk Across Morecambe Bay       

A walk from Arnside to Kents Bank in aid of the charity Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and in the company of several hundred others from all over the country will take place on a Saturday rather than a Sunday on this occasion.  We will need to know how many intend to take part and submit the figures by the end of June if possible.  We will be expected to make a donation to the charity and the committee feel that £10 per person would be a reasonable figure.  The bus will be the standard rate of £6.  Clearly we are some way off the date right now but if you can start thinking about then that would be very helpful.  If,  however,  you are fairly sure of your movements in August and would like to put your name down for the walk,  then please get in touch.The coach will be leaving at 10.30am and the walk will start at about 1.30pm and last for round about 4 hours but we will need to be at least an hour early for registration (and a spot of lunch).  As it is a Saturday,  it would be difficult to organise an evening meal when we return,  so participants are advised to make their own arrangements.  Should some people wish to go on the trip,  but not do the crossing,  there will be a C walk, Hampsfell - Grange Over Sands.

More advice on clothing,  footwear and precise timings will be circulated nearer the time.
