Future Walks

Sunday 29th December 2019 - Car Walk - Sands: 9.00am

From the telephone box parking area at Mungrisedale which is an honesty box, we have a very short road walk to gain access to the fell side. An initial steep but short pull up the hill on Raven Crags is quickly followed by a long progressive climb to the summit of Bowscale Fell. Following the path in a southerly direction we head for Bannerdale Crags. This involves dropping down and climbing up very little at all on a good crag side path as we ascend to the Summit of Bannerdale Crags.

We will then head toward Blencathra to pick up the path taking us below White Horse Bent all along the Glenderamackin Beck. A longish gradual descent all the way back to the cars. This is a harder B walk without reaching the extreme of being an A walk and might be enough for everyone after the Christmas grub, but enough to kick start the New Year in the right manner. Good paths, some great views in fabulous countryside and not too far to travel. If you want some dinner we will manage to stop for some.
